1 Swimmer Found Dead, 1 Missing After Jumping Off ‘Jaws’ Bridge On Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts

Officials said four people jumped off the bridge in Edgartown at 11 p.m. Two were rescued, but two men were still missing. A search team found the body of one of the missing swimmers. The search for the other man continues. The two rescued people were taken to hospital for treatment. Local police and firefighters searched for the men until about 3:30 a.m. in the morning. The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing has also responded. The bridge, officially called the American Legion Bridge, is a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike, even though there is a sign warning people not to jump or dive off the bridge. It connects Edgartown to Oak Bluffs and became famous after appearing in several scenes in “Jaws”.
