Another stimulus check may come for New Yorkers

New York residents could see some more state aid coming their way as COVID-19 continues to impact the country in the form of yet another stimulus check.

US Senator Mitt Romney has introduced a new bill called “The Family Security Act“which is almost the same as the child tax deduction, where families received stimulus money to help cover the costs.

Child Tax Credit sent families an average of $ 300 each month, but this new bill would allow more money to be sent to families.

The new bill proposed by Senator Romeny will allow families to receive $ 350 a month for each child under the age of five, and $ 250 for each child ages six to 17. The maximum allowable per family is $ 1,250 a month.

Also different from the child tax deduction is that this new proposed bill requires people who receive the stimulus check to work, volunteer or train for at least 80 hours a month.

Currently, both sides of the U.S. Senate are discussing the proposed bill, where the biggest problem is the need to show proof of work, volunteer work or education. Some business owners blame the lack of workers for the stimulus checks sent out to Americans in the early COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the proposed bill, here is how the stimulus check will work if the bill is passed.

Parents are eligible to apply for the benefit 4 months before the child’s due date with a maximum monthly payment of $ 1,250 per parent. family.

Managed monthly through the Social Security Administration and available to all children with a required SSN.

The annual child benefit is reduced by $ 50 for every $ 1,000 above the current Child Tax Credit (CTC) income phasing-out threshold of $ 200,000 for single files and $ 400,000 for co-applicants. Any overpayments or underpayments will be reconciled through the IRS after filing annual taxes.
