Augusta Health sees increase in positive COVID-19 cases

FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WHSV) – Augusta Health announced it is experiencing a slight increase in COVID-19 activity.

Augusta Health’s test positivity rate is 18%. The current COVID-19 clinical count is 13, with one death in the past week.

According to a press release, in the 24 hours leading up to 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 14 new positive cases of COVID were identified at Augusta Health’s testing sites.

Over the past weekend, 69 new positive cases were diagnosed at Augusta Health’s testing sites: 32 in Saturday’s report and 37 in Sunday’s report.

Augusta Health is asking everyone to get vaccinated, wear masks indoors even if they are vaccinated, wash hands regularly, and maintain social distancing from others whenever possible, especially during indoor holiday gatherings.

This Saturday there will be a booster clinic at Waynesboro Mennonite Church. Food bags will also be available at this clinic.

The Augusta Health Community Task Force has now delivered more than 10,000 vaccines to vulnerable communities.
