Beverly Grove shooting: Police search for 3 suspects after man killed in shooting at gas station near Beverly Center

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Police are looking for three suspects who they say Friday afternoon were shot at a man’s car at a gas station near Beverly Grove, in which he died.

Authorities say the victim, described only as a 23-year-old man, fled in a black Cadillac Escalade after being shot on La Cienega and Beverly Boulevards, across the street from the Beverly Center.

Paramedics treated the victim after he stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Santa Monica and San Vicente boulevards in West Hollywood.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where the man died.

Lt. Los Angeles Police Department John Radke said the three suspects opened fire from their car at the gas station and shot the victim while he was in the SUV.

The victim was in the SUV with several other people, although their condition is unknown.

“We don’t know why or how this happened, all we know is that the victim’s vehicle, they stopped, they were pumping gasoline and it looks like they were probably done filling up and the suspects were coming out of the alley. approached, got out of the car and started firing at those victims,” ​​Radke said.

The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m., according to the LAPD.

Radke said the three suspects left in a white four-door sedan, although a make and model were not immediately available.

At least one person was detained by law enforcement officers at the West Hollywood scene. Radke said that person may have been in the SUV with the victim and was being questioned.

Radke said officers are still hearing several witnesses.
