Biden COVID-19 vax mandate for fueled contractors, healthcare blocked

A federal judge has suspended President Joe Biden's demand that federal contractors in three states receive COVID-19 vaccines.

Federal judges temporarily blocked the entry into force of two parts of President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal contractors and health workers in Ohio.

U.S. District Court Judge Gregory Van Tatenhove Tuesday blocked the Biden administration from imposing a COVID-19 vaccine requirement on federal contractors and subcontractors in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Meanwhile, health workers are not federally required to get the COVID-19 shot in Ohio and the entire country for the time being, U.S. District Court Judge Terry A. Doughty ruled Tuesday in another case in which Ohio also participated. See the statements below.

The Biden administration has previously set a November 22 deadline for federal employees and January 4 for federal contractors to be vaccinated against COVID-19, waived, or face sanctions. Now federal officials are waiting until January to suspend non-compliant workers.
