In any case, if she hasn’t made it clear now, she is not here for Body shamming. Period. And yet, when she is out in LA this week wearing beige shorts and a matching tank top, negative comment about the 18-year-old circulated online.
Never one to allow to be ashamed of your body in any way, the multi-award winner musician made her feel about it, known with the perfect response. Taking it all over Instagram, she shared a Chizi Duru’s short video on Body shamming.
“Y’all gotta start normalising real bodies, okay? Not everybody has a wagon behind them, okay? Guts are normal – they’re normal. Boobs sag, especially after breastfeeding. Instagram isn’t real,” the clip begins. “Instagram has warped a lot of you all into thinking NORMAL bodies are abnormal. NO,” Duru captioned the post on her own Instagram.
Eilish, who won two awards at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards this week, shared a photo on Instagram with the caption: “Do you want to go back in time?” Which some fans took as a reference to the previous body-shaming she’s been unfairly subjected to. Back in March, Eilish presented a powerful video about body image at the start of her set in Miami.
Billi Eilish Response
In this, she removes her top as she lowers herself into a pool of tar-like black liquid while saying some powerful words: “You have opinions about my opinions, about my music, about my clothes, about my body,” she said. “Some people hate what I wear, and some people praise it. And many people use it to shame others; some people use it to shame me.”
“If what I wear is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I am a slut. So while I feel your stares, your approval or your sighs of relief, if I lived by them, I’d never be able to move.” The singer also addressed the perception of body size in the clip. “Would you like me to be smaller? Weaker? Softer? Taller? Do my shoulders provoke you? Does my chest? Am I my stomach? My hips? The BodyBody I was born with, is it not what you wanted?” she asked.
Billi signatures style mainly includes large ensembles, submerges herself entirely in the black liquid in the video, which concludes: “Though you’ve never seen my BodyBody, you still judge it and judge me for it. Why? You make assumptions about people based on their size. We decide who they are. We decide what they’re worth.” Now, she has reiterated the same message loud and clear.

Then in March, Eilish released a short film titled Not My Responsibility in which she stripped down and submerged herself in black water à la Under the Skin to deliver a powerful voice over.
Those questions are now directed to one person in particular, who, on seeing Elish wearing anything other than baggy clothing (she was wearing a sick all-tan fit feat. Gucci socks and Yeezy slides, if you’re interested), felt it was his place to comment on her figure. And Twitter has a perfect unified response to him.
