Chicago Postal Service employee charged with stealing stimulus checks

CHICAGO – A former US Postal Service employee based in Chicago has been charged with federal charges of allegedly stealing stimulus checks from the post office.

Olivia Bryant, 33, of Chicago, has been charged with three counts of theft from the U.S. Post. During his trial, Bryant pleaded not guilty.

The indictment accuses Bryant of stealing three pieces of mail from her Chicago route last March. Authorities believe the stolen item contained stimulus checks.

Her next court hearing is scheduled for May 13.
