Costco closes its special opening hours for customers over 60, healthcare professionals and first aiders from Monday.

The warehouse giant had begun devoting an hour a day exclusively to these customers so they could avoid larger crowds in the pandemic.

“Members who do not wish to shop during normal business hours are welcome to visit Costco.com for all their shopping needs,” the company said in an update on its website.

Costco had originally said they would end the special opening hours last summer before changing their minds when COVID-19 cases rose again.

New York City’s positivity rate has reached nearly 4.5%, according to the latest information from the Department of Health, and officials again recommend that New Yorkers wear masks indoors.
