COVID-19 hospital admissions up slightly in Florida

The number of hospitalized patients in Florida with COVID-19 rose slightly in data released Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The data showed 1,608 admitted patients had COVID-19, up from 1,594 on Monday.

The number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care remained flat — at 355.

After a spate of cases this summer due to the highly contagious delta strain of the coronavirus, Florida saw a steady decline in hospitalizations in September, October and early November.


By comparison, Florida had hospitalized 15,177 patients with COVID-19 as of September 1.
