Recent developments:

• On Friday, the State Department of Health reported 485 new confirmed and probable cases across the country, including 260 cases on Oahu, 120 on the Hawaiian Island, 60 on Maui, 29 on Kauai, one each on Molokai and Lanai, and 14 Hawaii residents diagnosed outside the state.

• There have now been 233,640 confirmed and probable cases nationwide, including 162,202 in Oahu, 29,204 in Maui County (27,663 in Maui, 928 in Molokai and 613 in Lanai), 25,448 in Hawaii County and 11,219 in Kauai. A total of 5,567 Hawaii residents have been diagnosed outside the state.

• Two new deaths were reported Friday; the death toll across the country is now at 1,292.

• Hawaii has reached a vaccination rate of 75.7 percent of the total population across the country, with Honolulu County at 79 percent, Kauai County at 71 percent, Maui County at 69 percent and Hawaii County at 67 percent.

• From Friday at At 9 a.m., there were 11 people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Maui Memorial Medical Center – six unvaccinated and five vaccinated, including one who received a booster shot. There were no patients in the intensive care unit and no one in the respirator.

• Mayor Michael Victorino announced that from Monday, evidence of vaccination or a negative test will not be required for indoor service at restaurants, bars and gyms.
