Covid-19 vaccines now reach poor countries, but not people’s poor

After months of severe shortages, Covid-19 vaccine stocks for the world’s poorest countries are finally increasing. But many countries say they will struggle to get them into people’s arms as they struggle with the potential delivery of more vaccines in the coming weeks than they have received so far this year.

The authorities do not have the money to run awareness campaigns and set up more vaccination sites, including the necessary refrigerators and freezers to store the shots. Misinformation and small numbers have also made many in poor countries skeptical about the shots.
