CT’s daily COVID-19 positivity rate falls below 5%; Hospital admissions are on the rise – NBC Connecticut

Connecticut’s daily COVID-19 test positivity rate dropped to 4.98% on Wednesday, according to government Ned Lamont. The number of hospital admissions due to the virus has risen to 575.

The rate is a sharp drop from Tuesday’s 8.33% positivity rate, the highest infection rate since last winter.

The number of hospitalizations of people with COVID-19 has also increased in recent weeks. The number of hospital admissions Wednesday is 575, which is 50 more than Tuesday, when 525 patients were treated for coronavirus at hospitals in Connecticut.

Of the 575 patients currently hospitalized with lab-confirmed COVID-19, 442 have not been fully vaccinated, according to the governor’s office.

A second case of the ommicron COVID-19 variant was also announced on Tuesday. The latter is a man in his twenties who lives in Fairfield County.
