PSD News Release: PUBLIC SECURITY DEPARTMENT COVID-19 UPDATE

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is performed on an ongoing basis in state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest test updates received for the probation service is as follows:

Hawaii Community Correctional Center A (1) positive result of inmates’ tests. Four (4) inmates have recovered.

Maui Community Correctional Center – 30 negative inmates’ test results and 10 negative staff test results. Two (2) inmates have recovered.

Kauai Community Correctional Center – 10 negative inmates’ test results. Five (5) inmates have recovered.

Oahu Community Correctional Center One (1) negative result of the inmate’s test. Two (2) inmates have recovered.

Halawa Prison Service – One (1) inmate has recovered.

The Department of Public Safety (PSD) continues to encourage all staff and inmates to be voluntarily tested and receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
