PSD News Release: PUBLIC SECURITY DEPARTMENT COVID-19 UPDATE

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is performed on an ongoing basis in state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest test updates received for the probation service is as follows:

Maui Community Correctional Center – 44 inserted test results; Two (2) positive, 42 negative. One (1) inmate has recovered. 14 negative results of staff tests reported.

Kauai Community Correctional Center – Two (2) inserted test results; One (1) positive, one (1) negative. 23 inmates have recovered.

Oahu Community Correctional Center – One (1) positive result of staff test reported. One (1) negative result of prisoner test. 77 inmates have recovered.

Hawaii Community Correctional Center – One (1) positive result of staff test and four (4) staff feedback reported. 11 inmates have recovered.

Halawa Prison Service – 41 inmates have recovered.

Kvindesamfundets Kriminalcenter Four (4) inmates have recovered.

The Department of Public Safety (PSD) continues to encourage all employees and inmates to be voluntarily tested and receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
