Firefighter crashes into car en route to Stockton fire



STOCKTON, Calif. (BCN) – A firefighter was injured Monday as he drove a fire truck into an early morning blaze after the fire truck collided with a car in Stockton.

The driver of the car was also injured in the crash, reported at 2:18 a.m., as the Stockton Fire Department responded to a fire in a structure.

The two vehicles collided at the intersection of March Lane and Pershing Avenue, authorities said.

The fire truck’s driver’s cab hit a vacant building and knocked over a light pole, Stockton Police Department Officer Joseph Silva said.

The firefighter and the driver of the other car were taken to hospital.
Information about the injured firefighter has not been released.

The driver of the car has received medical attention and is in stable condition. He is expected to be discharged from the hospital without any problems.

More details about the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
