Four New COVID-19 School Outbreaks Reported in Oakland County; 15 cases confirmed – The Oakland Press

Schools in Oakland County reported four new COVID-19 outbreaks with 15 new cases last week. Both numbers were higher than the week before, when there were three outbreaks and nine cases.

Statewide, outbreaks have fallen to 87 for the week ending Nov. 12, compared to 104 the week before. The number of cases has also fallen, from 671 last week to 519. The numbers will be released on Monday by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The four Oakland County schools with new outbreaks are Clarkston Elementary (four cases), Berkeley’s Rogers Elementary (three cases), Southfield Christian (four cases), and Walled Lake Elementary (four cases, students and staff). Cases are among students unless otherwise noted.

Twenty schools in Oakland County continue with 24 ongoing COVID outbreaks: West Bloomfield’s Keith Elementary (three cases), St. William Catholic in Walled Lake (four outbreaks with 16 cases); Walled Lake Central (3 cases), Wixom’s Loon Lake Elementary (two outbreaks, six cases), Wixom Elementary (three cases), Southfield’s McIntyre Elementary (five cases), Norup International Academy in Oak Park (four cases), Bradford Academy in Southfield (three cases), Beverly Elementary in Beverly Hills (three cases), Lawrence Tech University football team (12 cases), Webber Elementary in Lake Orion (five cases), Cranbrook (Kindergarten to Elementary with six cases), Walled Lake Western High (three cases) students and staff cases), Independence Elementary in Clarkston (three cases students and staff), Madison Heights High cheer squadron (six cases), Morse Elementary in Troy (three cases), Baldwin Elementary in Rochester Hills (three cases), Oxford Elementary ( three cases) and Hugger Elementary in Rochester Hills (3 cases). Cases were among college students unless otherwise noted.
