The IRS will contact families who qualify for 2021 Child Tax Credit
Normally, families should claim the Child Tax Credit when filing a tax return, this year, however, families only need to file a 2020 tax return. The IRS urges parents who missed tax day, it was May 17, to file a tax return, even if you have no income, so they are automatically registered for the Enhanced Child Tax Credit for Fiscal Year 2021 included in the U.S. bailout plan.
Eligible parents get a tax credit for: up to $3,600 for ages 5 and under and up to $3,000 for ages 6 to 17. If the IRS determines that you may be eligible, the agency will send you a letter.
