Guatemalan man charged with illegal use of social security number to get employment | USAO-EDLA

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – This was announced by US lawyer Duane A. Evans FIDADELFO ANTONIO CAMEY-ESPANAThe 35-year-old Guatemalan native was today indicted on a single charge of unlawful use of a social security number to enroll in a security class to qualify for employment, in violation of Title 42, United States Code, Section 408 (a) ( 7) (B).

FIDADELFO ANTONIO CAMEY-ESPANA faces a maximum prison sentence of no more than five (5) years, a fine of up to $ 250,000.00, up to three (3) years of supervised release and a mandatory special assessment fee of $ 100.00.

U.S. Attorney Evans reiterated that an indictment is merely an indictment and that the defendant’s guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

U.S. Attorney Evans praised Homeland Security Investigations’ work in investigating this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carter KD Guice, Jr. is responsible to the prosecution.
