Here’s the reason you do NOT get a stimulus check or tax refund by mail today

AMERICANS who are still waiting for their stimulus checks and tax refunds to come should not expect them to come today.

That’s because there is no ordinary mail delivery on President’s Day.


Stimulus checks and tax refunds are not a priority on the federal holiday

You can also expect your local post office and courier to be out of order today, according to US Postal Service Holiday Calendar.

The USPS will reopen its doors tomorrow, February 22, at the usual times.

A service that stays running President’s Day is Priority Express Mail, which operates all year round.

Unfortunately, stimulus check and tax returns is not a priority on the federal holiday.

In addition, stimulus checks was not sent out on Columbus Day, Veterans Dayand Martin Luther King Day for the same reason.

The latest stimulus checks, sent out at the federal level, were worth up to $ 1,400.

While a fourth federal payment seems unlikely, millions of Americans are still owed stimulus checks.

Can you still claim your stimulus checks?

  • Families who have added a breadwinner on their 2021 tax return
  • Individuals and couples who earned more than $ 80,000 and $ 160,000 respectively in 2020, but less than that amount in 2021
  • Eligible family members who died in 2021 and did not receive their full stimulus payment

For Californians who believe they are eligible and still have not received stimulus payments, there may be one reason.

Californians must also allow up to three weeks before paper checks arrive.
