DETROIT Michigan on Monday reported 5,380 new cases of COVID-19 and 60 virus-related deaths – an average of 1,793.3 cases over a three-day period.
The deaths announced Monday did not include anyone identified during a Vital Records review.
Monday’s update brings the total number of confirmed COVID cases in Michigan to 2,037,742, including 30,959 deaths. These numbers have risen from 2,032,362 cases and 30,899 deaths, from Friday.
Testing has increased to about 50,000 to 60,000 diagnostic tests reported per day on average, with 7-day positive rate at 11.75% pr. February 14 – the lowest it has been since the end of October. Admissions has fallen over the last three weeks.
Statens 7-day moving average for daily cases was 2,660 Monday, February 14, lower than the previous week. That The 7-day death average was 69 on February 14th. The state mortality rate is 1.5%.
Michigan has reviewed more than 11.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered per February 14 with 69.9% of 16+ residents have received at least one dose while 64.1% of 16+ residents considered fully vaccinated.
Across the entire Michigan population, 65.7% have received at least one dose of COVID vaccine.
According to Johns Hopkins University is more than 76 million cases has been reported in the United States, with more than 902,200 deaths reported from the virus. Globally more than 10 billion vaccine doses has been administered, including more than 539 million doses alone in the United States.
Worldwide more than 393 million people have been confirmed infected and more than 5.7 million are dead, according to Johns Hopkins University. The true numbers are certainly much higher due to limited testing, different ways in which nations count the dead, and deliberate underreporting by some governments.
“These trends are consistent and pointing in the right direction,” said Bob Riney, president of health operations and COO at Henry Ford Health.
