Previously, your social security statement and benefit amount were only available via a paper statement sent to your home. now you can access your benefit amount online through a mySocialSecurity account on SSA’s website.

Your online social security statement will show all the earnings you have had each year and how much you can receive per month in social benefits when you retire. The “statement” contains important information so that you can plan a comfortable retirement properly.

You can access your earnings, estimates of social benefits and printable statements. If you are retired and already receiving benefits, you can see your payment history, current status and manage your benefits via the online account.

To create your personal social security account, go to the SSA website here. From there, select “Create Account” to get started. You must be at least 18 years old, have a valid CPR number, a U.S. mailing address, and an email address to use this system.

Once you have signed up, you can confirm your earnings history, see estimated benefits based on your previous earnings, see social security and Medicare taxes you have paid over the course of your lifeprint out your current bank statement and request a replacement card.

If you are already receiving benefits, you can view benefits information, change your address and phone number, start or change electronic payments, get a Medicare card replacementa 1099 tax season compensation form and a benefit confirmation letter – all online.
