England prop Joe Marler has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the international fall test against Australia on Saturday, the team said in a statement on Tuesday.
Marler, 31, gave a positive lateral flow test on Monday and the result was confirmed by a PCR test on Tuesday. He has to be in isolation for 10 days.
“All England players and staff have undergone additional lateral flow tests – all of which have given negative results. Additional PCR tests have also taken place and [we] waiting for results,” the team added.
Marler came off the bench last Saturday in Tonga’s 69-3 thrashing at Twickenham in England.
