LIHU’E – On Friday, the Hawaii State Department of Health Kaua’i District Health Office reported two fatalities and 39 new cases of COVID-19.
One death was a male resident in the 60s who was hospitalized. The second death was a female resident in the 70s who was also hospitalized.

Kaua’i have a total of 26 COVID deaths to date.
Friday’s event brings the number of active, registered cases to 147, three of which are hospitalized. According to the Hawai’i Emergency Management Agency, two are in the intensive care unit.
To date, the county has registered 11,687 cumulative cases.
Today, Ho’ola Lahui Hawai’i is hosting a pop-up vaccine clinic at Kanuikapono Public Charter School in Anahola from 6 p.m. 9 to 11. This walk-in clinic is open to anyone aged 5 and over. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A mobile van offering free fast PCR COVID-19 tests is in the Hanalei Neighborhood Center today from 6 p.m. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
