LB Drue Tranquill placed on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Chargers placed linebacker Drue Tranquill on the NFL’s Covid-19/Reserve list after testing positive on Thursday, according to NFL Insider Aaron Wilson.

Tranquill has been vaccinated so he will need two negative tests in 24 hours and no symptoms to play with if his positive is confirmed.

Tranquill is only the second member of the team to make the list this season, with cornerback Ryan Smith the first in August.

If Tranquill misses Sunday’s game against the Vikings, Kenneth Murray, who is leaning towards activating the injured reserve, would start in his place.

That would also mean the Chargers would promote a player from the exhibition squad, be it Nick Niemann or Amen Ogbongbemiga.

This season, in seven games, Tranquill has 42 tackles, three tackles for losses and two quarterback hits.
