LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A fight lasting more than a hundred days is now over.
58-year-old Dan Dothsuk has been battling severe symptoms of Covid-19 for 104 days.
Most of the time he spent on a ventilator and fought for his life at Sparrow hospital.
Saturday morning, he was released from the sparrow after his long battle with the virus.
He says he is ready to get his life back after the four months of struggle.
“Ecstatic, getting away from here. I’ve been here for four months. I don’t remember very much of it, but the last month to a month and a half. Really looking forward to coming home and getting my life back,” Dothsuk said.
His son Cam said he is happy to have his father back.
“I wanted to be here every single day so I could see for myself exactly what happened and try to make the best decision for him,” Cam said. “Because we got to the point where we were literally planning a funeral. It was very important to me to be here every single day because things can change so quickly, Covid-19 affects everyone differently, every body is so different. “
Dothsuk said what he is most looking forward to is spending time with his son and daughter.
