ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) – Maryland’s Department of Health paused publication of the state’s COVID-19 statistics on Thursday and will do so again Friday to mark Thanksgiving.
The agency also pauses data updates on Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

“When reporting resumes, updates will include both the days that are on hiatus and the standard 24-hour changes in statistics,” the department said on its website.

On Wednesday, Maryland reported 905 new cases of COVID-19 and three new deaths, according to health department data.

The positivity rate in the state approached 4% and more than 600 Marylanders were hospitalized with COVID-19.
