Mexican woman charged with illegal use of social security number to get employment | USAO-EDLA

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – It announced US attorney Duane A. Evans BLANCA ESTELA AVALOS ALEJANDROage 41, native of Mexico, was today indicted on a single charge of unlawful use of a Social Security number to enroll in a security class to qualify for employment, in violation of Title 42, United States Code, Section 408 (a) ( 7) (B).

BLANCA ESTELA AVALOS ALEJANDRO faces a maximum prison sentence of no more than five (5) years, a fine of up to $ 250,000.00, up to three (3) years of supervised release and a mandatory special assessment fee of $ 100.00.

The American Bar Evans reiterated that an indictment is merely an accusation and the defendants’ guilt must be proven beyond reasonable doubt.

The American Bar Evans praised Homeland Security Investigations efforts to investigate this case. Assistant US Attorney Carter KD Guice, Jr. is responsible for the prosecution.
