
Minnesota’s COVID-19 update for Tuesday, March 15th
Monday’s COVID-19 update from the Minnesota Department of Health includes 483 recently reported cases and nine recently reported deaths. The state’s COVID-19 death toll is now 12,289.
Today’s update includes case data reported over a 72-hour period ending at 1 p.m. 4 Monday, March 14, but MDH notes that “not all cases from the weekend could be included” in Tuesday’s report, so the number of new cases is “lower than it should be” for a Tuesday.
These missing cases will eventually be reported on Wednesday.
Minnesota’s test positivity rate on a 7-day moving average (through March 7) was 3.2%, after being as high as 23.7% on January 21. Everything above 10% places Minnesota in the high-risk threshold for coronavirus community transmission. .
Admissions
As of March 14, the number of people with COVID-19 hospitalized in Minnesota was 306 – an increase from the 298 reported on March 13. intensive care unit (up from 260).
Vaccine, booster statistics
As of March 9, the state reported that 3,887,121 people had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 3,673,633 people had completed the vaccine series. There are 2,545,357 Minnesota residents who are “up to date” with their vaccine shots, which include boosters.
