RICHMOND, Va. — According to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA), nearly 500 additional COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals in Virginia in the past week.

The VHHA reported that a total of 72,655 hospitalized COVID-19 patients were discharged on Sunday, an increase from 72,199 (+456) patients since last Sunday’s update.

The number of hospital admissions in Virginia has decreased in the past seven days.

On Sunday, according to the VHHA, there are currently 829 patients in hospitals who are either positive or have test results pending, up from 828 (-1) last Sunday. Officials said 745 (-17) of those patients have COVID-19, while 84 (+18) tests are pending.

The data is a look at the recovery from COVID-19 in Virginia. While the data is not exact recovery stats, the discharge category shows how many COVID-19 patients were hospitalized and released.
