If you are not eligible for benefits now, you may be able to claim a tax credit later.

Visit IRS.gov and use the Get My Payment tool (which is in use but may be slow due to high demand) to find out the status of your stimulus payment. The tool shows whether a payment has been made and whether the payment has been sent by bank transfer or by post.

If ‘Get My Payment’ shows the message ‘Payment Status #2 – Not Available’, it means that you may not be receiving an incentive payment at this time and you will need to claim the chargeback credit on your 2020 tax return.
