Ohio reports 2,121 more COVID-19 cases: daily coronavirus update for Tuesday, February 15

CLEVELAND, Ohio – State of Ohio on Tuesday, 2,121 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, continuing the trend of declining daily case numbers starting in mid-January.

The average over the last week of 2,666 a day is the lowest in a period of seven days since mid-August. This average exceeded 20,000 a day just a month ago.

The total number of cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020 has now reached 2,635,769.

Ohio’s death toll since the onset of the pandemic now stands at 35,372, an increase of 367 since the last report. COVID-19 deaths are reported twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, although the deaths reported are often weeks old.

A total of 7,201,063 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 65.4% of Ohioans 5 years and older.

Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 19,969 deaths among people reported as unvaccinated, and 1,002 among people reported being fully vaccinated. And there have been 61,793 hospitalized Ohioans who were not fully vaccinated, and 3,977 fully vaccinated people hospitalized. Updates are usually delivered every Thursday.

The state does not report for COVID-19 cases whether people have been vaccinated.

The total number of cases reported recently is likely to be underestimated, as some people do not report home tests and others may not test at all.

* Total reported ICU admissions: 13,049, an increase of 19.

* Total reported admissions: 110,643, an increase of 99.

* Total reported ICU admissions: 13,030, an increase of 22.
