Outagamie County Deputy for Advanced Life Support in Fighting COVID-19

OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, Wisconsin (WBAY) — An Outagamie County deputy remains hospitalized with advanced life support in a battle with COVID-19.

Sheriff Deputy Channing Pompa has been in hospital since September 26.

On November 16, the Pompa family released an update on a GoFundMe page for the family.

“It’s been just over a month since Channing was transferred to an out-of-state hospital to receive more advanced care. He is currently still on this advanced life support and has had several complications in the past month. He remains sedated, but every day the team works to slowly come down in the hopes that he will wake up in the coming weeks. He still has a long way to go with an undetermined outcome. But we pray every day for a speedy recovery and for him to come home to us. Thank you all for your support. It really means so much to us,” the Pompa said in a statement.
