CHARLOTTE — The Panthers made five roster moves on Sunday to meet this week’s roster limit, before heading off for joint practice sessions with the Patriots on Monday.
The Panthers waived running back Darius Bradwell, tight end Nate Becker, linebacker Kamal Martin, offensive lineman Wyatt Miller and cornerback Chris Westry.
The moves bring them to 85, before Tuesday’s deadline for the first roster cut.
Martin played in six games for the Panthers last year, starting with one. Becker was signed last Thursday and provided some short-term cover on the tight end as the team suffered a handful of injuries.
The Panthers will need to snatch five more players to reach the 80th roster on August 23, before returning to the regular season limit of 53 on August 30.
