The State of Qatar, represented by the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority, is participating in the Virtual Social Security Forum for Asia and the Pacific, which is currently being held via video conferencing.
The Forum’s agenda, organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), includes challenges facing social security in Asia and the Pacific, the issue of innovation for stronger security management, and strategies to meet needs.
The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority, represented by the Director of the Planning and Quality Department at the Authority, Moza Mohamed Al Sulaiti, presented the key developments in the digital transformation that the Authority has implemented to meet the needs, effects of the coronavirus pandemic and the challenges the authority is faced with providing services to the recipients.
During the presentation, the Authority confirmed the success of its telework experience and its digital capability, following the coronavirus pandemic accelerating the digital transformation from what was planned to be completed by the end of 2022 (end of the five-year strategy), to be 100 percent completed during 2021 instead of 2022.
The forum is considered the most important social security event, as representatives of regional and international organizations will discuss key priorities, innovative solutions and strategic directions for social security in Asia and the Pacific.
