Experienced stock investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, owner of the recently launched Akasa Air airlines, passed away this morning in Mumbai at the age of 62. The airline began commercial operations this month with its first flight from the financial capital of Mumbai to the city of Ahmedabad. He had teamed up with ex-Jet Airways CEO Dube and former IndiGo chief Aditya Ghosh to set up Akasa.

According to hospital sources as quoted by the news agency ANI, Jhunjhunwala Didn’t hold up well for the past few days and took his last breath today at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. He was born on July 5, 1960 and grew up in Mumbai.

The Ace stock market investor also ran a private stock trading company called RARE Enterprises. He was always optimistic about the Indian stock market and the stocks he bought usually turned into a multi-bagger.
