Rep. Dean Phillips tests positive for COVID-19, isolated in Washington DC

U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips tested positive for COVID-19 and said Friday he is experiencing mild symptoms.

The Minnesota Democrats. representing the suburb of Hennepin County in the House, said in a tweet Friday that he tested positive before going to travel.

“I am vaccinated, boosted, experiencing mild symptoms and will isolate myself in Washington according to the guidance of the CDC and House Physician,” Phillips said in the tweet.

He encouraged others to get free COVID-19 test kits. Every household in the United States is now eligible to order a third round of rapid home test kits, which are shipped free of charge by the US Postal Service. The tests can be ordered online at special.usps.com/testkits or by calling 800-232-0233and each order will contain eight tests.
