Vaccine recipients will receive $ 10 gift cards and the opportunity to participate in prize draws. Game consoles, flat-screen TVs and restaurant gift cards are among the prizes, organizers said.
Staff from the Great Lakes Bay Health Centers will provide the COVID-19 vaccines at the event.
The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church has served as the site of several COVID-19 vaccine events in recent months.
Larry Camel, the pastor of the church, has been advocating for the life-saving measure since it became available to the public more than a year ago. Camel and his wife, Shirley, became critically ill from COVID-19 in April 2020about a month after the pandemic reached the region.
