Santa Fe County woman among 11 COVID-19 deaths | Coronavirus

A woman in her 50s from Santa Fe County was one of the victims in the Department of Health’s latest COVID-19 report.

The woman had been hospitalized and had underlying conditions, according to the department. A woman in her 70s from Rio Arriba County who was hospitalized with underlying conditions also died.

The health ministry said COVID-19 has killed 5,135 new Mexicans since the coronavirus first appeared in the state.

The outbreak of new cases in New Mexico continued on Tuesday with 1,137 reported. Forty-two were in Santa Fe County. Bernalillo County led the state with 416 cases.

Hospital admissions, which state officials use as a marker for how the fight against COVID-19 is progressing, remained high, at 470.
