The last two years have been difficult for everyone, including educators and students. Our country’s teachers have adapted and cared for their students in so many ways. This year, we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from May 2nd to May 6th and honor all educators who prepare our children for the future.

We know that well-informed instructors can have a strong and positive impact on their students. That’s why we’ve made a set of teacher tools. It is a divisible online resource for teachers to engage students and educate them on social security. The toolbox contains:

• Lesson plans with goals

• Infographics and handouts for each lesson plan

• Links to Social Security Web pages

• Speech points

• Quiz questions and answers

You can access the toolbox at www.ssa.gov/thirdparty/educators.html

We appreciate and welcome the efforts that all teachers are making to educate America’s young people. We would like to help kick-start the discussion with students about social security. Please share our toolbox with educators in your communities today!
