In front of the national deadline for tax returnResidents of some states may be eligible for additional financial payments.

While the third round of economic stimulus payments was sent out to eligible Americans last year, some individuals were who has not received one may be able to apply for it prior to the deadline for filing tax on April 18th.

In addition, some states have enacted legislation that will give residents more financial payments after their tax is filed on Monday.

In Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill in March that will give eligible nationals additional financial payments after they file their taxes.
“HB 1302 will provide a one-time tax deduction for taxpayers who have filed tax returns for both the 2020 and 2021 tax years,” the governor’s office said in a statement.

According to the statement, when a taxpayer files their tax for 2021, the state tax department will send additional credit. Single taxpayers will receive $ 250, and married couples will receive $ 500. A taxpayer considered the head of the household will receive a payment of $ 375, according to the governor’s office.

“When the government takes in more than it needs, I think those dollars should be returned to the taxpayers because it’s your money – not the government’s,” Kemp said earlier.

Similar legislation was signed in Indiana, with Governor Eric Holcomb announcing that eligible nationals will receive a “125 automatic taxpayer refund” after filing their 2021 tax.

“The governor announced in early December that an estimated $ 4.3 million in taxpayers will receive a refund of $ 125 after filing their 2021 tax. An estimated $ 545 million will be returned to Hoosiers. After the tax filing deadline is expired on the 18th in collaboration with the Office of the Auditor General will begin issuing refunds by direct deposit or by sending a paper check, “Holcomb’s office said earlier this month.

New Mexico residents may also be eligible for a tax rebate after filing their taxes Monday, after Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed the legislation in March. Single taxpayers will receive a one-time tax rebate of $ 250, and single taxpayers will receive a one-time tax of $ 500.

In New Jersey, some residents will be eligible to receive up to $ 500 in tax rebates after filing their 2021 tax. According to Forbes, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and the state legislature previously approved a budget that sent $ 500 tax rebates to about 1 million families. Last month, Murphy included another $ 500 one-time rebate check for individuals who file their taxes using a taxpayer ID number instead of their social security number. Forbes reported.

Idaho Governor Brad Little has also previously signed a bill allocating $ 350 million in tax rebates to eligible residents.

“Any Idahoan who was a full year resident in 2020 and 2021 and who also submitted an Idaho individual tax return or a Form 24 for those years is eligible for the rebate. Non-residents and interim residents are not eligible,” the Idaho Tax Commission said in a frequently asked question form.

The discount amount will either be $ 75 for each taxpayer and each breadwinner or 12 percent of their 2020 taxes, whichever amount is greater.

In addition to these five states, which have already approved additional financial payments after the April 18 tax filing deadline, several other states have similar proposals in place that have not yet been adopted by the state legislature. According to Forbes, states such as California, New York, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Virginia have similar proposals to provide residents with additional financial payments. If these proposals are adopted in the states, residents can receive additional payments in the coming months.
