The A’s made a series of moves on the list on Friday, placing outfielder Stephen Piscotty on the COVID-19 injury list and placing left-handed pitchers AJ Puk and Kirby Snead and catcher Austin Allen on the restricted list.

To replace them on the active list, Oakland added left-hander Zach Logue (the A’s) No. 22 prospectus, according to MLB Pipeline), right-handed player Ryan Castellani, catcher Christian Bethancourt and infielder Drew Jackson as substitutes. The A’s also announced on Friday that outfielder Luis Barrera has been sent directly to Triple-A Las Vegas after clearing exemptions.

The A’s did not state why Puk, Snead and Allen were placed on the restricted list ahead of the team’s weekend series against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Before the start of the 2022 season, Canada’s restrictions to allow unvaccinated people into the country led MLB and the MLB Players Association to accept permitted changes to the Toronto player roster.

Logue was one of four players the A’s bought from the Blue Jays in the Matt Chapman deal last month. He has made two starts for Triple-A Las Vegas this season and owns a 5.40 ERA in 6 2/3 innings. The left-handed player has posted a career-high 3.46 ERA in five Minor League seasons.

Castellani, Bethancourt and Jackson were non-roster invited with Oakland during Spring Training. All three have also played for Las Vegas.
