Many Americans are waiting for a boost to Christmas stimulus as state and local governments plan to make payments.

These benefits come in the form of incentive checks or as basic income.

9 million California residents will receive incentive checks by the end of 2021 as part of the Golden State Stimulus II program.

The state of Florida plans to issue incentive checks to pre-K through 12th grade first responders during the month of December, with those eligible to receive a one-time payment of $1,000. Governor Ron DeSantis has said 175,000 teachers and 3,600 directors could receive the money.

Maine residents have been receiving checks since Nov. 15, with a one-time payment of $285 going to half a million people in the state.

In Maryland, there are incentive checks to the poorest families and individuals, with eligible families receiving $500 checks, while individuals can claim $300.

The state of Columbia began sending recurring payments worth $500 to 100 low-income fathers in September, and these will be loaded onto debit cards, sending payments for a total of 12 months.

As part of Louisiana’s financial literacy program, teens will receive $350 in monthly payments, with the first batch shipped in December and the program set to last for the next 10 months. Eligible people must be between the ages of 16 and 24 and either be unemployed or out of school.
