Swiss Social Security Agency announces extension of special regulation for frontier workers due to Coronavirus

On 20 June, the Swiss Federal Social Insurance Office announced the extension to 31 December from 30 June of the special social security regulation for frontier workers working from home due to the coronavirus pandemic. The communication clarified: 1) frontier workers working remotely for Swiss employers from their country of residence remain subject to Swiss social security legislation; and 2) the Regulation applies to frontier workers from EU members and members of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
