NEW HAVEN – After testing negative for COVID-19 earlier this week, the U.S. rep announced. Rosa DeLauro on Saturday that she now tested positive for the virus.

DeLauro, D-3rd District, said in a statement that she would isolate herself and work remotely from her home in New Haven. But her office will remain operational for her constituents, she said.

“Fortunately, I experience only mild symptoms and am grateful for the protection that comes from being vaccinated and boosted. I urge everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated and boosted,” DeLauro said in a statement.

The congresswoman was scheduled to march in St. Louis. Patrick’s Day parade and said she planned to celebrate community projects and all that was achieved for working families in the federal spending package passed this week.

She also postponed an event scheduled for Monday in Stratford with Sterling House CEO Amanda Meeson and Mayor Laura Hoydick to celebrate securing $ 1.5 million in Community Project Funding to support Sterling House facility improvements.

DeLauro was also to meet with students who attended Sterling House Continuation School. The event will be moved at a later date.
