The General Retirement and Social Security Authority welcomes the decision to raise pensions

Doha: The General Retirement and Social Security Authority has welcomed His Highness Amir’s decision to issue the Amiri decision to increase pensions and the two laws on social insurance and military retirement.

The Amiri Decision sets a minimum pension for all Qatar pensioners in the country, from the date of issue of the decision, of not less than QR 15,000, with the addition of a special allowance of QR 4,000 as compensation for housing benefit, provided that the pension does not exceed one amount of QR 100,000, and the decision will continue to be implemented until the date of the two new laws for those whose service ceases by reaching retirement age, invalidity or death during the transition period, from which approx. 28,381 retirees will benefit, at an estimated cost of more than QR 28 billion.
