The Middlesex County MA reported 1,436 additional COVID-19 cases last week

Massachusetts reported far fewer cases of coronavirus in the week ending Sunday, adding 4,906 new cases. This is a decrease of 20.5% compared to the previous week’s figures of 6,173 new cases of the virus causing COVID-19.

Massachusetts is number 22 in the nation in terms of where coronavirus spreads fastest on a per-person basis, shows a USA TODAY Network analysis of data from Johns Hopkins University.

Last week, coronavirus cases in the US fell by 28.3% compared to the week before, with 239,094 reported cases. Seven states reported more cases last week than they did the week before.

Middlesex County reported 1,436 cases and 33 deaths last week. One week earlier, it reported 1,748 cases and 41 deaths. During the entire pandemic, it has reported 319,742 cases and 4,726 deaths.

Worcester County reported 483 cases and 35 deaths last week. One week earlier, it reported 638 cases and 29 deaths. During the entire pandemic, it has reported 190,071 cases and 3,048 deaths.

Norfolk County reported 404 cases and 14 deaths last week. One week earlier, it reported 472 cases and 12 deaths. During the entire pandemic, it reported 129,434 cases and 2,242 deaths.
