GLASGOW, Nov. 10 (Reuters) – Frans Timmermans, head of EU climate policy, welcomed a climate pact between the United States and China on Wednesday and said it would help countries reach an agreement at the United Nations climate summit.
“It’s really encouraging to see those countries that were at odds in so many areas have come to an agreement on what is the greatest challenge facing humanity today,” Timmermans told Reuters.
“It also shows that the US and China know that this topic transcends other issues. And it certainly helps us here at COP to come to an agreement.”
