
Tippecanoe County reported 338 additional COVID-19 cases this week
Indiana reported far fewer coronavirus cases in the week ending Sunday, adding 9,916 new cases. This is a decrease of 43.1% compared to the previous week’s figures of 17,416 new cases of the virus causing COVID-19.
Indiana ranked 44th among the states where coronavirus spread most rapidly per capita. person, shows a USA TODAY Network analysis of data from Johns Hopkins University. In the past week, coronavirus cases in the United States fell by 42% compared to the week before, with 722,053 reported cases. With 2.02% of the country’s population, Indiana had 1.37% of the country’s cases last week. Across the country, three states had more cases in the past week than they had in the week before.
Tippecanoe County reported 338 cases and seven deaths in the past week. One week earlier, it had reported 499 cases and six deaths. During the entire pandemic, it has reported 49,319 cases and 364 deaths.
White County reported 31 cases and three deaths in the past week. One week earlier, it had reported 56 cases and zero deaths. During the entire pandemic, it has reported 6,727 cases and 89 deaths.
Clinton County reported 48 cases and four deaths in the past week. One week earlier, it had reported 93 cases and two deaths. During the entire pandemic, it has reported 9,103 cases and 110 deaths.
Carroll County reported 20 cases and zero deaths in the past week. One week earlier, it had reported 24 cases and three deaths. During the entire pandemic, it has reported 4,178 cases and 56 deaths.
Benton County reported 19 cases and zero deaths in the past week. One week earlier, it had reported 27 cases and zero deaths. Throughout the pandemic, it has reported 2,451 cases and 21 deaths.
Fountain County reported 56 cases and two deaths in the past week. One week earlier, it had reported 46 cases and three deaths. During the entire pandemic, it has reported 5,310 cases and 92 deaths.
Across Indiana, cases dropped to 90 counties, with the best drop in Marion County, with 861 cases from 1,673 a week earlier; in Allen County, with 458 cases out of 958; and in Vanderburgh County, with 500 cases from 840.

Indiana ranked 46th among states in the proportion of people who received at least one shot, with 60.5% of the population at least partially vaccinated. The national rate is 76.1%, shows a US TODAY analysis of CDC data. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which are the most widely used in the United States, require two doses to be administered every few weeks.

In the week ending Saturday, Indiana reported having administered an additional 50,326 vaccine doses, including 13,343 initial doses. In the previous week, the state administered 70,316 vaccine doses, including 17,714 first doses. In total, Indiana reported that it has administered 9,158,776 total doses.
Within Indiana, the worst weekly outbreaks were per. person in Scott County with 348 cases per 100,000 pr. week; Fountain County with 343; and Greene County with 341. Centers for Disease Control says high levels of community transmission begin at 100 cases per year. 100,000 a week.
Adding the most new cases overall was Marion County, with 861 cases; Vanderburgh County, with 500 cases; and Allen County, with 458.
In Indiana, 393 people were reported dead of COVID-19 in the week ending Sunday. In the week before that, 424 people were reported dead.
A total of 1,674,269 people in Indiana have been tested positive for coronavirus since the pandemic began, and 22,529 people have died from the disease, data from Johns Hopkins University shows. In the United States, 78,479,134 people tested positive and 935,335 people died.

Indiana’s COVID-19 hospital admissions are declining

Hospitals in zero states reported more COVID-19 patients than a week earlier, while hospitals in one state had more COVID-19 patients in intensive care units.
