Trump Mar-a-Lago Raid: Judge Schedules Hearing Over Possible Unsealing FBI Search Data

U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart has scheduled a personal hearing in Florida on Thursday about disclosing FBI data related to last week’s raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

The hearing will take place on August 18 in the West Palm Beach Division. Reinhart will discuss with the Trump administration and legal team the motion to unlock the search warrant materials and attachments — the search warrant affidavit is likely included in that material.

Media organizations ask Reinhart to unlock the affidavit, despite objections from the Justice Department. Reinhart has not yet ruled on the case.

Mulvaney, who resigned from his White House position in January 2021 over the January 6 riots, said he would have a “difficult” vote for the former president if Trump were the Republican nominee of 2024.

Milbank described the recent shift as a “historic anomaly,” noting that momentum has shifted toward an incumbent presidential party late in the game of an election year — for the first time in modern history.
