LONDON (AP) – The UK government said on Monday that all remaining coronavirus measures for travelers, including passenger search forms and the requirement that unvaccinated people be tested for COVID-19 before and after their arrival, end Friday to make it easier to keep holiday in Easter school holidays.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said the changes would mean people “can travel just like in the good old days.”

The passenger location forms require people to fill in travel information, their UK address and their vaccination status.

The announcement came as coronavirus infections rose in all four parts of the UK – England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland – for the first time since late January. The number of hospital patients with COVID-19 is also increasing. Researchers say many of the new infections in the UK were a more transmissible sub-variant of the omicron variant.

“We will continue to monitor and track potential new variants and keep a reserve of measures that can be quickly implemented if necessary to keep us safe,” said Health Minister Sajid Javid.
